I Ordered from Guangzhou, Visited the Factory, Had Lunch with the Boss. So Why Did My Goods Come from Xi’an?

You visited the factory. You met the boss. You had lunch together. You saw the production lines. Everything looked perfect. Then your goods arrived — and the shipping documents said Xi’an.

Wait… what?

This is where things get interesting

In textile manufacturing, auditing a factory and signing a contract does not always mean your order will actually be produced there.

Sometimes your order quietly takes a little detour — from the factory you audited to a workshop you have never heard of, where your 10,000-piece order becomes somebody else’s side hustle.

Three practical checks

1. Visit during production — not only at the end

A final inspection shows you the finished goods. But if you want to know where they were actually made, you need to see your order running on the production line. An unannounced visit during production is one of the best ways to do that.

2. Ask for real-time proof

Request photos or video from the production floor while your order is being made. Ask the factory to include an A4 sheet with the current date written by hand in every shot. Old photos and pre-recorded videos are much harder to pass off that way.

3. Follow the materials, not just the finished goods

Look for the materials that are connected to your order: partial fabric rolls, unopened hardware and components, work in progress, semi-finished parts. Together they connect the finished goods to the actual production process.

Looking for a factory you can actually rely on?

We believe transparency should be part of the manufacturing process — not something you have to fight for.

You are always welcome to visit our factory, see the production floor for yourself, and check what is happening with your order. Need photos or video during production? Just ask — we are happy to provide them.

No smoke and mirrors. No “Grandpa Zhang.” Just transparent production, direct communication, and a factory you can rely on.
